FWA-Awarded Digital Storytelling Experience

As Head of Digital at Red Bull, I was tasked with commemorating the 20-year career of B-Boy Lilou, a two-time breakdance world champion. We aimed to create a digital experience that would engage dedicated breakdancing enthusiasts and casual hip-hop fans. We aimed to develop a platform that would serve as the definitive resource for Lilou's career, allowing users to spend anywhere from two minutes to two hours exploring his journey.

I orchestrated a 360-degree campaign centred on an innovative, interactive editorial microsite. The core of this experience was an engaging timeline spanning from 1997 to 2017, showcasing Lilou's career alongside significant moments in hip-hop culture.

The "20 Years of Hip-Hop Culture with B-Boy Lilou" campaign achieved remarkable success:

  • Attracted over 200,000 unique visitors to the microsite.

  • "Site of the Day" Awards from FWA, Awwwards, and CSS Design

  • Generated substantial social media engagement.

  • Built PR momentum and was displayed on tablets during the BC One, the largest one-on-one breakdance competition in the world, held in Paris.

  • Strengthened Red Bull's position as a key supporter of urban culture.

Intro.

The microsite featured key elements such as exclusive archival footage, a comprehensive video interview with Lilou, high-impact performance videos, rare photographs and curated audio playlists.
